O Mein Papa . . .

Oh, my pa-pa, to me he was so wonderful
Oh, my pa-pa, to me he was so good
No one could be, so gentle and so lovable
Oh, my pa-pa, he always understood.

Gone are the days when he could take me on his knee
And with a smile he'd change my tears to laughter

Oh, my pa-pa, so funny, so adorable
Always the clown so funny in his way
Oh, my pa-pa, to me he was so wonderful
Deep in my heart I miss him so today!

"Oh my Papa" originated as "O mein Papa", by Swiss composer Paul Burkhard (1911-1977), in his musical DER SCHWARZE HECHT, which premiered at the Schauspielhaus in Zurich on 1 April 1939 (and of which there is actually a recording, on the Tudor label, made in 1981). The song appeared again in Burkhard's later musical FEUERWERKE (1950). The song was later translated into several languages, (and transcribed into several instrumental arrangements) and popularized by singers ranging from Lys Assia, to Eddie Fisher (probably the most popular recording of the song), The Andrews Sisters, and The Kingston Trio, to the Simpsons.

The original German lyrics appear at:

My Enemy !

In French I would say: " J'ai une dent contre le tabac ! ".

Zen ...

A new look

Few days ago, I stepped back into my abandoned 'bloggyLand' determined to scream out its silences and give it some life.
As I was updating my profile I found a funny question in the Random Question section, which is the following:

The hair from your last haircut ... what would it say about your new style?

I laughed. Laughed a lot. Normally I would ignore such questions and even regard them as silly and purposeless. Yet, that day, I discovered that such a question, in fact, makes sense and is friendly oriented; and I reply to what I usually ignore. I replied because I was about to cut my hair in the following day. The answer couldn't be truer and the question couldn't be asked in a better time.

I feel lighter and refreshed as if cutting one's hair would actually be lightening one's memory, getting rid of any sad or bad souvenirs.

All my friends loved my new haircut and so did I ^_^.

So, I'd like to ask: what does your haircuts say about you?

It might be silly to ask such questions, however, they are somehow reflective of you, of us ...Don't you agree? !

Eid Saeed

I wish you all the best for the Eid.
May God bless us all.
Ameen.

Anyway, I have to do something about it.
