Belated existence
14 days in 2008. That is two weeks of delay to wish you all, Friends bloggers, a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I can do better! Last week, was the new Muslims Year 1429! Happy New Hijri year Fellas! I was traveling and I was unaware of it! I swear! I got to learn it via a message in my cell phone as soon as I switched it on when I got back from my trip, from a friend who's not Muslim. Pleased and Happy. Pleased to learn the news and Happy to hear them from her. She's the only person so far who payed attention that other people in the world co-existed, within my neighbourhood, I intend!
As a non Christian, I like to wish Merry Christmas to all my friends who observe Christmas or to whom it may matter. I don't mind someone wishing me a merry Christmas either, but honestly, I don't very much like it when the person happens to know Christmas ain't my tradition.
I care about one's traditions....why can't one care about mine too? or at least, show some consideration. If you don't care, don't assume your traditions are every body's traditions.
It reflects on a self-absorbed mind.
...It reflects on a narrow-minded world, centred on a global idea of a global culture. Yet, Global includes our differences.
Perhaps, Globalization tends to make everyone melt in harmony. However, it should stress out or accentuate our diversity. For a meal to have a taste, it has to mix ingredients. A meal with one ingredient...singles a unique taste. It might be healthy...but it tastes somehow fade...Actually, it does not feel like it tastes anything at all since it is composed of one element only and is not compared to something different...The healthy part, depends more on the way of cooking than on the ingredient(s) within...I reckon.
Now, to tase good, or bad...That's another issue.
Taste, like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
True, there are some universal concepts that would qualify something Delicious or not. Nonetheless, likes and dislikes are hard to discuss in general, sometimes, or may be...always!
When we wish something, we think is good, to someone, it underlines the expression of good intentions, especially when that same person knows that we think good. Regardless, it shows our care and thought of the person, our consideration.
However, one should watch out when such behavior might show a lack of understanding or knowledge, or simply a lack of consideration. One's intention might not be perceived the way one intended it. One's ignorance (be it genuine or arrogant)could sometimes offend others. It's hard for me to imagine one intending to hurt, just for the sake of hurting. Yet, people hurt and get hurt, often. Because of a random lack of communication or a lack of consideration. Also because of a lack of openness from their part, as well.
Anyway, I talk too much...Hmmm and I enjoy that :). So...In my humble opinion...:
The point of my rambling discursive thread, is that, it's good to be considerate with one another. It's even better to care to be.
